| With a total of 56 parks, the City of Great Falls has one of the state's largest park systems maintaining acres of parks and facilities for roller-blading, bicycling, jogging, hiking and picnicking. There are tennis courts, horseshoe pits, fields for softball, volleyball, soccer, football and baseball. Including a park with special play equipment for handicapped children. During the summer the parks department provides a number of supervised activities for children ages 6 to 12. There is no charge for most activities including arts and crafts, games and team sports. The city also sponsors lessons and camps for a number of sports, including in-line skating, swimming, golf and volleyball. City Parks and Recreation can be reached at 771-1265.
Other Outdoor Facilities include:1 Public pools with water slide, 3 Racquetball courts, 4 Public swimming pools, 5 Sheltered picnic facilities, 5 Running tracks, 6 Outdoor basketball courts, 8 Softball diamonds, 18 Baseball diamonds, 20 Public tennis courts, and 40 Horseshoe pits. Gibson Park Features walking trails, duck pond, play area, tennis courts, horse shoe pits and an added bonus Great Falls Municipal Band performs free on Wednesday evenings in the summer.. |
